Foster Care Reunification services offers supervised visitation and an array of services for children in foster care and their parent with the intent to reunify the parent and the child. In addition to supervised visitation, the following services are provided: individual, age appropriate therapy for identified children, individual parenting education, parenting skills modeling and parent mentoring, and case management services focused on parental resource development. Many modalities are utilized including positive teaching interactions, modeling of parent-child communication, creating developmentally appropriate behavioral expectations and consequences, and developing safe, nurturing, and healthy home environments.
Parents are provided weekly individual parenting classes to develop knowledge of child development, enhance parenting skills, encourage bonding and provide opportunities to network within the community to establish sustainable resources. When reunification proceeds, Preventative Aftercare Intensive services may be implemented as a supportive next step.
