Businesses Can Support George Junior Republic Through the EITC Program
Pennsylvania businesses looking to improve the lives of students at George Junior Republic can take advantage of the Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC), which can be used to offset a number of Pennsylvania state taxes.
Tax credits can equal up to 75 percent of a business’s contribution up to a maximum of $750,000 per taxable year. This amount can be increased to 90 percent of the contribution if the business agrees to provide the same amount for two consecutive tax years.
Scholarships and classroom support for at-risk youth
As a participant in the EITC program, George Junior Republic accepts donations to support its programs for at risk youth from participating businesses as both a Scholarship Organization and an Educational Improvement Organization. The scholarships and program support from the EITC program make it possible to continue providing the education component of George Junior Republic’s services.
EITC – Scholarship Organization
George Junior Republic, as a Scholarship Organization, will provide tuition to eligible Pennsylvania students to attend the George Junior Republic Middle High School, located on the George Junior Republic campus and operated by the Grove City Area School District. At least 80 percent of the funds contributed go to cover the cost of the scholarships.
EITC – Educational Improvement Organization
George Junior Republic, as an Educational Improvement Organization, will contribute at least 80 percent of its annual EITC receipts to innovative educational programs for students attending the George Junior Republic Middle-High School, located on the George Junior Republic campus and operated by the Grove City Area School District.
Businesses interested in participating in the EITC program should contact the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program at 727-787-7120.
