GJR in PA - A Special Visitor

A special visitor stopped by GJR in PA on July 3rd - our most senior alumnus, Pal Yossick! Pal lived at GJR from 1949 to 1952, where he immersed himself in campus life. He learned construction, gardening, and landscaping, participated in sports, and even helped oversee a younger youth cottage. He fondly recalled his time at GJR, still remembering the full name of his coach and then-Superintendent Gladden. After GJR, Pal served four years in the U.S. Air Force and continued a lifetime of public service working for the government. Now 88, he lives in Delaware with his wife of 70 years, Patricia, and enjoys traveling the country to visit siblings he connected with later in life. Pal was surprised to see how much GJR has grown since his time, when only three buildings stood on campus. He shared that the foundation GJR provided played a key role in his success later in life, one that he enjoys every minute of.
