Health Services

George Junior Republic in Pennsylvania offers a coordinated and comprehensive approach to health care during a youth’s stay on campus. Each youth receives an initial physical health screening upon admission, as well as routine dental, vision, and hearing assessments. Contracted providers regularly visit the campus to provide services on site, minimizing the need for travel. From the time of admission, youth are encouraged to be active participants in the management of their personal health.

As part of our commitment to person centered care, George Junior Republic in Pennsylvania is investing in a new, $2.5 million wellness center, which will house our nursing and psychiatric support departments. The new facility will also include optometric, dental, and physical health suites for use by our care providers.

Nursing staff is on campus from 6 a.m.–10 p.m. and on-call from 10 p.m.– 6 a.m., 7 days per week. Emergent and expert medical attention is available 24/7 through the AHN-Grove City Medical Center, located a few miles from campus.
