Read MoreBalancing Safety and Support at Pew Counseling Center
In what could have been a tense situation at Pew Counseling Center, staff demonstrated the true power of CARE through calm, connection, and teamwork. During an agency meeting, a person served became visibly upset, prompting supervisors to provide additional support.
Thanks to the strong relationship built between the youth and his Treatment Team Coordinator (TTC), the situation was de-escalated through compassionate communication and trust. While the TTC guided the young man through his emotions, supervisors and Pew staff maintained a therapeutic and safety-focused presence, ensuring that everyone felt supported and secure.
Through collaboration, communication, and relationship-based care, the issue was resolved peacefully—an outstanding example of CARE principles in action.
