During the 2025 Christmas season, parishioners of the Church of the Beloved Disciple in Grove City, PA, participated in the church’s annual angel tree program and generously provided GJR in PA youth with gift cards to Bookends Bookstore.
George Junior Republic staff recently completed the first session of the Developmental Interactions Workshop Series, a Cornell CARE-informed training focused on the everyday moments that shape connection, trust, and growth in residential care. Led by experienced trainers from Cornell’s Residential Child Care Project, the workshop encouraged staff to approach daily interactions with greater intention, consistency, and developmental understanding.
George Junior Republic recently welcomed a Syracuse University researcher to campus for an ethnographic observation study focused on everyday interactions, routines, and experiences in residential care. The visit reflects our ongoing commitment to CARE principles, reflection, and continuous learning that support staff and persons served.
Thanks to the COVID-19 ARPA Digital Connectivity Technology Program, funded by DCED in collaboration with the Pennsylvania Broadband Digital Authority, George Junior Republic created a new Computer Lab with 42 laptops valued at $122,010. This investment supports digital literacy, internet safety education, and brighter futures for the youth we serve.
